Aims & Scope

NG Agricultural Sciences is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to publishing original research, review articles, short communications, and case-based scholarly contributions in the broad field of agricultural sciences. The journal aims to advance scientific understanding and practical innovation across agricultural systems, with particular emphasis on sustainability, productivity, resilience, and technology-enabled transformation in agriculture and allied sectors.

The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of high-quality research that contributes to the improvement of crop and livestock systems, natural resource management, agricultural technologies, food systems, and rural development. It welcomes interdisciplinary studies that connect biological, environmental, engineering, socio-economic, and extension dimensions of agriculture.

NG Agricultural Sciences seeks submissions that offer clear scientific contribution, methodological rigor, and relevance to contemporary challenges in agriculture at local, regional, national, and global levels.

The journal publishes work in, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Agronomy and crop production
  • Soil science and soil–plant relationships
  • Horticulture
  • Plant breeding, genetics, and seed science
  • Plant protection, entomology, and plant pathology
  • Agricultural extension, communication, and innovation systems
  • Agricultural economics, agribusiness, and policy studies
  • Sustainable agriculture, climate-smart agriculture, and agroecology
  • Water management, irrigation, and agricultural engineering
  • Precision agriculture, digital agriculture, artificial intelligence, and smart farming applications
  • Animal science, dairy science, poultry science, and livestock systems
  • Fisheries and aquaculture
  • Food science, post-harvest management, and value addition
  • Forestry, agroforestry, and integrated farming systems
  • Rural livelihoods, gender, youth, and community-based agricultural development

The journal particularly encourages manuscripts that:

  • address emerging issues in sustainable and resilient agricultural systems;
  • demonstrate sound experimental, analytical, modelling, or field-based methodology;
  • integrate science with practical applications, policy relevance, or extension implications;
  • contribute interdisciplinary insights across agricultural and allied sciences; and
  • offer regional evidence with broader scientific or development significance.

Manuscripts that are purely descriptive, lack scientific rigor, or fall outside the scholarly scope of agricultural sciences will not be considered.
