Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

Next Gen Multidisciplinary Research (NGMR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles and best practices set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that submissions are original works, free from plagiarism. Any use of others’ work must be properly cited.

  • Authorship Criteria: Only individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study should be listed as authors.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: All sources of information must be properly acknowledged.

  • Data Accuracy: Authors must ensure that all data are accurate, verifiable, and honestly presented. Data fabrication or falsification is strictly prohibited.

  • Conflicts of Interest: All financial or personal relationships that could influence the research must be disclosed.

  • Multiple or Redundant Publication: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political views.

  • Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts except to those directly involved in the review and publication process.

  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must not handle manuscripts in which they have a competing interest.

  • Decision-Making: Editorial decisions are based on reviewers’ reports and the journal’s policies.

  • Handling Misconduct: Editors will investigate suspected misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents.

  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing constructive feedback without personal criticism.

  • Promptness: Reviews should be completed within the agreed timeframe.

  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline to review if they have a conflict of interest.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify any relevant work not cited by the authors.

4. Research Misconduct Policy

NGMR considers the following as forms of research and publication misconduct:

  • Plagiarism

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Improper authorship practices

  • Redundant publication

  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

  • Manipulation of the peer review process

Allegations of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE flowcharts. Proven cases may lead to article retraction and notification to relevant institutions.

5. Retraction and Correction Policy

  • Retractions: Issued for articles with significant errors, ethical breaches, or proven misconduct.

  • Corrections: Issued for minor errors that do not affect the conclusions.
    All retractions and corrections will be clearly linked to the original article.

6. Publisher’s Responsibilities

The publisher ensures that the journal’s operations meet recognized ethical publishing standards, supports the editorial team in investigations, and safeguards the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record.
