This article presents an in-depth discussion of the different aspects of technology and innovation in agricultural extension, i.e., how they affect the productivity of smallholder farmers, the adoption of improved practices, and livelihoods overall. It discusses using digital extension services, mobile-based advisory services, artificial intelligence, and social networks to disseminate agricultural innovations. Furthermore, it assesses those factors that influence farmers' sharing of climate-resilient agriculture practices, the economic empowerment of women farmers through agricultural extension interventions, and the necessity for youth engagement in agriculture. The evaluation analyzes sustainable agriculture programs and market access initiatives for small-scale farmers within extension practices. The research examines the educational requirements for agricultural extension agents and reviews digitalization possibilities for agricultural extension services in its conclusion.
